Adelaida is our partner, Cool Earth’s newest recruit on the ground in Peru
From the village of Cutivireni, she is one of the brightest people you could hope to meet. At only 24 years old she already has a strong background in medicine and is now pioneering Cool Earth’s work to protect mothers and newborns when they’re at their most vulnerable.
“My favourite thing about my work for Cool Earth is visiting the houses of the pregnant women. The project is so important because we see many women suffer from the dangers of childbirth here but now pregnant women will be much safer and have the care and support of others. Last year my sister Telma suffered from a retained placenta. Cool Earth’s project allowed her to travel to Satipo to get
medical attention. Thank you to everyone who supports Cool Earth.” Adelaida Bustamante
Cool Earth will be travelling to the Ashaninka Project with American NGO One Heart World-Wide at the end of the rainy season for two weeks of intense safe-birthing
training.
